Brinks Security Box

I did a Google search for this box and came across your forum. I found this topic-http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=11894&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

After reading through it and reading the "wafer lock tutorial" I am still quite lost on how to get this open. See, I gave my son this box for him to keep personal things away from his little brother, but after I caught him smoking weed I took it from him and now he says that he "lost' the keys. This leads me to believe that he is hiding something, and I'm about read to smash the box open, but I would rather go a different approach first. Anyway, could you give me any tips on working with this kind of lock?

Do you have a picture of the lock and box?

Bury it in a plastic bag in the garden somewhere, he cant have it and will soon find the keys otherwise leave it until hes 18 lol

Even better tell him your going to ask the police tomorrow to open it for you, hell soon find them then lol

I'll open it and make you a new key and send the box back to you.

My fee is the "contents" and shipping costs.

I have opened many of these. I own 2 for some reason, and i am sitting next to 3 more. They just shake open. Put some tension on it and just wiggle something violently in it. A paperclip or a nail file like someone said will open them. That one is a 4 wafer lock, and only has 3 depths to i think. Not to much of variation. Good luck!

here is one with my picks on it, and you can tell it is picked.

just scroll down a bit to see it.

Take the box and your son down to your local locksmiths and ask them to pick the lock, but leave the box closed (which should be standard practice for an ethical locksmith). Take the box and your son back home and sit down somewhere private and ask him if there's anything he would like to tell you. Then open the box.

Best case scenario, box empty. Worst case scenario, some weed and some X-Rated playing cards. Either way, your son will have learnt a very important lesson about life.

I like Crispy's idea alot. Hopefully he will tell the truth about what's in it to show some dignity before the real truth comes out. Great idea.
