Now, think what effect that would have on customers. ;)

Late last June, I went to a Lowe's store and did this to all of the Master pin tumbler padlocks on display. I then closed each open padlock shut again and left the store.

About two years prior to this, I went to a different Lowe's store and tried to hone my lock picking skills on one of their Schlage deadbolts on display.

A Lowe's employee eventually came along scolded me for doing this, so I told him that I was sorry, but I also said that there were no "Please do not pick the display locks" signs as far as I could see. I then said that customers should have the right to check for themselves whether a lock is resistant to picking.

Since I did not feel like hearing this employee's stuttering retorts, I just put my tools away and walked out of the store.

I guess there are two things that just go over the edge, picking display locks, and sqeezing the Charmin!
