The Master 2050XD has a button on it's face that has to be pressed in order to open the lock after the combination is dialed.
Here's the facts:
1. The last number of the combo can be determined be turning the dial right and while holding down the button. You know it's the correct number, because of the least amount of friction felt while holding down the button.
The button is the key....
2. You need dial callipars. When the next correct number is dialed (I'm talking about the first or second number of the combination), the button will distinctly depress further into the lock. But, you can't exactly feel or see the difference. However, by using a pair of dial callipars between the button and the back of the lock, and maintaining pressure on the thumb wheel of the callipars (this means the button is being depressed at the same time), this difference can be seen numerically.
Anyway, this is the meat of the process. I've opened many of these locks in this manner in less than a 1/2 hour. I'll let anyone who wants to have a go at it, figure the logic out for himself. I hate long threads on combo lock opening procedures.
