Im going to ask my cousin to get me a set. I wanted to ask what picks are most used? :shock: thanks

hook, snake rake, half diamond and several thicknesses/widths of tension
wrenches.

often you'll want different sizes of the hooks and diamonds, and maybe a Large S as well as the snake.

Urmm... get the 9 piece Slimline set.

You get two different hooks, two different rakes, a ball pick, and a half diamond, and a deforest hook which is a cross between a half-diamond and a hook. These are all great picks and I think it's a great set for a beginner. :)

is that the 9 piece slimmies from SO? i didnt know SO (if it is that) even made deforest picks!

SouthOrd make two types of deforest picks. The first type is a mix of half ball with hook, and the second type mix a half diamond with a hook. The half ball/hook deforest pick is included in the 9 piece slimline set. :)
