cant dismantle this cylinder lock

So I went down to my local hardware shop and purchased a bunch of bits and pieces to further nurture my new hobby.

However I am having trouble dismantling this securit lock, and illusions repinning guide seems to start AFTER you get the metal rod that comes out the back has been removed.





I thought maybe the plug has to be in an appropriate place but i cant see any mechanical change when i turn it round.

Illusions guide says to lift up the small circle like piece of metal. I cant see how this can be done at all..

can you pull the plug? that rod probably comes out the front

There is a C clamp (or is it called an E clamp) around the tail of the plug. That's the piece of metal you need to take off. Pry it off with a screwdriver if you can't find a better tool, then the tail piece will come out.

You need to pull off the circlip that holds that goes around the back of the lock. Use a screwdriver to pull it off. Then the "rod" will come off. Then you can use the guide you found to complete the rest. Any further questions feel free to PM me and I'll help.

Yea i thought that C or E clamp would slide of if it was in the right position or something. Managed to force it of with a screw driver

how the hard part... hehe

few getting those springs and top pins back in was well hard! But iv got the nack of it all now and can fairly easily change pin combinations and pick it nice and quick with a feeler no matter what combination it is.

So what now? Can i move onto security pins? or should i go buy other simple locks to go practice on. Maybe 7-9pin combinations or something.

if you can find some simple 7 or 9 pin locks then ill pay good if you'll send some my way too

try some brinks locks they arent super hard but they're definitely not easy
