If your in a pinch (or cheap, :-P) WD40 (or, honestly, any kitchen non-stick spray) and a few good taps on a solid surface can loosen up an old lock. Though the wet then dry lubes does sound much more effective.

The spray and tap method has been successful for me in the past at breaking loose jammed pins too, but it's not entirely reliable in that aspect.

Kitchen spray is also great for squeeky doors. I know, off topic, but it is a handy trick.

that chart is $h*^. anywyas, recommendation, start out with no tension, see how hard it is to lift pins. then throw in your tension wrench with light tension in clockwise direction. either rake or spp. use light force when picking and on the tension wrench. keep practicing and bam, it will pop right open.

reminds me of when i used to use 35% hydrogen peroxide, just the vapors would sting like ****

reminds me of a funny story, i had a buddy who got some 35% sprayed on his unmentionable area and screamed like a little girl. Nuclear trained navy people do some strange things to stay entertained.

Haha ouchie....

anywayz...
Have you tried different picks on the more difficult lock?
Sometimes the way 2 different locks of the same model # are made,
makes it easyer/harder to pick.

One might be easy because pins are set to similar depth,
and a nice half diamond will pop it REAL FAST.

The other one might have a shallow bite up front, and the
back pin needs to be pushed a bit farther down
needing a long hook to hit the back without disrupting the front.
Sometimes you can HOLD the back pin in place with the tip
of the hook and use the shaft of the pick (not tip) to bounce
the outer 1-2 pins into place.
