that family of masterlocks can be tricky at first because they do have security pins. I find them easiest to pick with a mellow snake and very light tension. If the cylinder turns a bit but doesn't open, grab a short hook and feel your way through, pushing each pin up until you find the one that gives as you let off the tension slowly. Push it up and back off the tension until it sets...
