Ok.. firstly, I'm afraid you won't be getting any info on opening cars in the public forums. Check the forum rules.
Secondly, I think you missed the point. The suggestion wasn't to get the car towed. The suggestion was that a tow truck driver is usually capable of opening the car for you, and often at a lower price than a locksmith.
Now, it's debatable as to whether you'll get the same level of expertise from a tow truck driver as you would a professional locksmith. On one hand, there are some real cowboys out there calling themselves locksmiths, and at the same time there are some very professional and skilled tow truck drivers. But as a general rule, I'd expect the locky to win out as far as skill and experience goes.
But then again, before I learned what I've learned, I've used tow truck drivers for lockout calls and I've never had a problem.
