GPS and locksmithing

I recently got a cellphone with a gps. Now I might a bit behind with technology but someone like me get lost in my own backyard.

Tested it out yesterday and the result was amazingly accurate.
Can't wait to try it on a call out.

It will also be more proffessional to just ask the street address than to ask for direction. Funny story about that. Made a call on my cell phone and asked what was the "address" . The lady responds "what has her dress got to do with this" Serious,reception can sometimes be bad. Bad communication can also make things difficult.

Do you guys use gps and what type of systems are used.
Also if any humourous instances like the one I expierenced ever happen to you.

I have a TomTom Go 300 for about 4 years now.

Works like a charm, guides you to within 25 meters of the adress entered.
I renew the maps every 10-12 months, since there is a lot
of building going on in the area i cover.

Its much better than going around with the roadmap on your lap, and the 3000 candle torch
i used to have in the car to find the housenumbers

I am not a working lockie, but I have had a garmin GPS system for the last 5 years or so.

They are getting to the price point where everyone should have one. I recently saw one of the Tom Tom systems on Tiger Direct for $99.

It just seems like a small investment for the hassle it saves getting around.

We use a laptop and an aftermarket gps add on that works ok i suppose but i've got a garmin nuvi 350 and it's amazing. I highly suggest it, we're also moving towards having blue tooth on our cell phones so we can be working while on the phone and it not be so awkward.

just dont leave the holder up in your van window. mine lasted about 4 weeks before i needed to replace the glass
