Tubular lock question (already searched)

Postby Microelite7711 » 30 Jun 2008 18:55

Hello :),
Recently I have bought a seven pin and eight pin tubular lock pick and the work amazingly. I bought them from lockpicktools.com and they look like this: http://www.lockpicktools.com/images/tub ... kpick8.jpg

Anyway, I have picked many of my own locks except one, and that would be the ACE II lock :( I've tried for hours and nothing.

I would like to know if there is a certain technique to pick these locks. I have read on another topic that a guy opened his by having really tight tension but I'm not sure if that would be a technique... :?

So, could you help me out and talk about your technique to opening ACE II's without SPP. It would help very much :)

Your pick will work very well on tubular locks with a constant amount of resistance behind each pin. As far as I know, your pick works because each pin has the same amount of force behind it... Ace II locks have top pins made of different metals, and springs made of different metals and strengths.... making it tough to pick unless you are picking one pin at a time.

I have seen people pick Ace II locks with that type of pick, but I do not believe their results are very consistent. More of a blind luck, thing.

If you are looking for a solution that will open all Ace locks.... The only thing I can think of is the Peterson Pro-1. However, I do not recommend you buy one. This is a tool for professionals... people who NEED to open these locks for money.... It is a PAIN IN THE ASS. A huge pain in the ass. It took me about a year to even begin to learn this thing. HOWEVER... I am now picking Ace II, bike locks, Harley Davidson ignitions, Sentry safe key locks, like nothing. Very good tool... for someone who needs it.

Keep practicing, you should be able to pop a few Ace II with that thing if you keep trying.

Agreed.

I've been able to open some ACE II locks with the HPC pick we have, which is not designed to work on the ACE IIS.
But about 90% I've had no luck with.
