Ummm the tool for this is a Seasame Decoder. But if you're completely devoid of tools and unable to get tools, there are 10,000 possible combinations, although it goes quicker on a disc combination lock cause you just can just turn 1 wheel at a time to mess with the combinations.

To get them all is a simple format:
0000, 0001, 0002 . . . 1010, 1011, 1012 . . . 9997, 9998, 9999.

Just treat each possible combination as a number from 0-9999 and count upwards. Although i warn you, this is slowwwww

Try these combos first

Code: Select all
0000     9999
1111     1234
2222     4321
3333     2345     5432
4444     3456     6543
5555     4567     7654
6666     5678     8765
7777     6789     9876
8888     7890     0987

They are, in my experience, combinations that most people think they will never forget, barring a birthday etc. Seems as though youve forgotten your combo, maby these will jog your memory. If not, you will just have to try them all.[/code]

I don't think the lock hes describing is one of those set your own combo locks and even if it is, most people dont bother to reset the combination. So chances are its a randomly assigned combo =\.

There are several types of mechanisms used in these locks
most that i have come across has a button to the side of the combination
that is moved to release a catch once the correct combination is set.

Try moving this button, this will put pressure on the wheels
making them harder to turn, but as you turn a wheel you will find
that at one point the wheel becomes free from the binding force
you then move on to the next binding wheel and turn this untill
this becomes free and so on. untill all the wheels have been done.

The other types of locks such as the sesame type, will need a different approach to open them

I find that if you look at the tumblers most of the time the plateing tends to wear on the revealed Numbers if it is unlocked most of the time and not to new try that setting. :?

Any make or model on this lock at all...Master and Sesame locks (and their various knock-offs) work a little different

Bah! You don't need a sesame decoder, just use a thin piece of metal. You'll be able to feel the grooves and whatnot. Feel around, and you'll easily figure it out. I've found a shim or my picks often do the trick on suitcase locks and the like.
