There are a whole lot of "I need help, im not doing something right" threads around here... there needs to be at least one "I finally did it right" thread to help the morale of the n00bs. This is that thread.

Anytime you have pulled thru (read: picked the lock) where you had failed so many times before feel free to post it here.

I picked my first 5 pin padlock just a few moments ago, it has been troubling me for about 3 days now and i finally defeated it .

(i appologize if this is a repost, but i checked the first 4 pages of this sub-forum and didnt see anything like it. so i assumed it was safe)

I still find there are some locks out there that stump me for a while. Take comfort it know that if your motivated its all a matter of time. If you keep at it, sooner or later you will master the lock you're working on.

I have 2 7 pin pad locks with so extreme keying I have only poped them now and then there as been breif periods i could pop them in les than 15 second for about 5 time in a row then other times i just cant pop them at all.
With a pick gun they pop open in a snap but it takes all the fun away

those 2 locks .. I have other identical locks but with not so harh keying and a quick rake pops them in seconds go figure huh.

At least the good thing is if you have this knowledge and u go buy a lock you can at lease see pick the one with the mose extreme keying for best security .)

We had an impressioning championship from the SSDeV last weekend,
and only one person could file a fitting key during the time given (1 hour).

It wasn't me, but since we all got to take the locks home, I tried picking it since sunday evening. Yesterday evening I got it.

It is a Nova Euro-cylinder, got very strong springs (which is good for impressioning, cause it gives clear marks).
