Using a Coat Hanger

Okay, I don't know any terms, so Im going to just describe what Im talking about and hopefully you can roll with it.

I've been attempting to open a door using a coat hanger. I hook it behind the latch bolt and pull it forward. Ta-da. Simple. But on the more sophisticated doors, the edge that goes into the door frame is flat. I have trouble getting those open, and thats the kind of door I run into the most. If anyone knows what Im talking about, has tips, any suggestions or just a better way in general to do this then I would appreciate your input.

I get locked out alot. At home, or even just to get into class if Im late...

Problem: You lock yourself out a lot at home...

Solution: Tie a key on a shoelace around your neck like Punky Brewster until you can be an adult and not misplace your keys all the time... Or if you can afford $30 and can properly use a drill to mount a Supra Keybox outside near the door and are allowed to (i.e. you own versus rent) you could go that route and not look like such a dork...

Problem: You arrive late to class and find the door locked...

Solution: Firstly, Arrive to class on time when the door is open/unlocked and you will be welcomed in much easier... Secondly, you should not be bypassing the security devices in use at your school, no matter what educational level it is... If you are late to class and find the door locked, knock on the door, if someone opens it request permission to enter from the instructor and deal with the penalties for being late, don't be a douche and try to sneak in... That is just wrong no matter how you try and rationalize it...

Your inability to keep track of your house keys or arrive to class on time does not mean you should be provided with specific instructions on loiding locks open or using a homemade wire tool to attempt the same thing... Learn how to plan your time better... You have triggered my "spidey sense" with your posting as the information you requested has very very limited legitimate use and is more often than not used for malicious purposes...

Ya caught me. I dont get locked out of my house but I absolutely loathe going to school. As a collective, the kids and teachers make the place a massive waste of time and money. I tend to skip class a lot, and there are classrooms that are empty sometimes, but the teachers like to lock the doors.

The coat hanger shit works. But sometimes the bolt thing gets hung up on the edge and Im still trying to easily get around that, just to make the process go smoother. Anyways, don't talk down to me like that, it's poppy _. Lockpicking forums, I want to surpass a lock.

You obviously have lock picking mixed up with criminal behavior and breaking and entering. This is a hobby lock picking site, we pick because it is a challenge, but we don't go around picking other people's door locks or locks that we don't have permission to be picking. This isn't a learn how to be a criminal forum, and since you're a punk kid, we WILL talk down to you because you asked for it and clearly deserve it.
