Different picking method

Ok, so i was able to pick a lock without any tension tools. Hole in the tabletop that holds the back of the plug, letting you tension by twisting the body of the lock? That's how I'd do it, anyway.

nope. my table just has a lot of scratch marks cuz i use it as a work place lol close though

its difficult to see exactly what you're doing, but it looks like you're using a lot of force to hold it, so i'm going to guess you're pressing on the core from behind somehow.

If the core is not fixed in place with a screw cap, or snapring, you can just push it forward from the back and the shear line will hang up pins in the step created by this direction of movement.

If you have a lock on a door that requires some extra jiggling to remove the key and you have found that pushing on the plug helps you remove the key, you need to screw the cap at the back of the plug tighter.

yup, you got it. there's no cap at the end of the plug so i apply tension not in a turning motion, but more in a pushing motion. At the end of the video where it opens, you can see that the plug opens by popping up
