Ok first off, I have read prior threads, so before you start calling me a thief low life or other, I work with the Sheriffs dept.
So here is the deal. 1. I have credentials, and if you have something meaningful, I can email you from my dept account, or provide you a letter on letterhead. So now that that is out of the way.
2. A PM is fine or anything that would protect the info, as obviously we are not trying to do others harm here.
It is not unusual to have tactical situations where entry is key. Now frequently it is cheapest to just buy a door, but I have seen several demos of pick guns, and electric picks that looked good. I liked the look of the pick guns that looked like they were made out of black and decker sissors, but at the same time they are noisy as hell. That is the kind of noise that could get someone shot, and I am curious if anyone knows of a better answer for tactical teams ? I myself am fine with the good old fashion manual skills, but i can't be everywhere. Any ideas ? idealy it would use the lithium 3v batteries as we carry them for our tac lights, flashlights, etc.
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Quiet pick gun? Hmm... nope. They're pretty much all noisy.
From a law enforcement standpoint, I can see picking a lock if you're doing a welfare check or something, but if you're doing a tactical entry where there is a very real possibility you might get shot, my armchair-commando imagination can only think of a small number of scenarios where you'd have to silently pick your way inside while an armed suspect is waiting. Usually I'd have thought that a dynamic entry would be called for: explosive entry, breaching rounds, Halligan bar, battering ram, or even the good-old-fashioned size 11 entry tool... the list goes on.
Tell you what, if you're really a cop send me a PM and I'll give you an email address where you can send me your credentials in a more private way than posting them on the forum here for all to see. I teach officer-survival courses, entry classes, among other things. I'll keep your personal information confidential. Once I'm able to verify that the information you send me is legitimate, I'd be happy to privately send you some advice for quietly entering places where you need to go in the course of your employment. And if you really are a cop, you'll know when and where you can legally use that information with no need for me to lecture you on that standpoint. It might take me a few days to get it done as I have my own life to lead, but I promise you that if you're legit, I'll get it done.
