Abus titalium 64ti/50 security pins?

Postby Dagoth Ur » 18 Nov 2015 17:23

Just wondering if anyone new if the lesser abus titalium has security pins. It's ridiculously easy to pick for me. It feels as if maybe sirrated pins are in there. But I heard abus has spool pins in them alot or mushroom pins but I don't feel them. If feels funny inside but I've been able to pick it 4 times under a min each time. Just wondering if one of you lock Jedi would no. Thanks either way-Pennywise the dancing clown-

Currently, Abus uses a combination of spools, serrated pins and serrated spools in their locks (in germany). Both driver and key pins are serrated and spooled.

I do not know if they use these in titalium locks as well. It might be possible. But you would see it from the keyhole already.

Thank u for the answers I just think it has very shallow spools compared to most spools I dealt with the bitting isn't super radical either . so maybe I just got an easy lock but it is fun to pick.love the paracentric keyway. First real exotic lock I've owned. Love it compared to the brinks, schlage and kwiksets I'm used to. Next is to consistently open my american which is quite the headache. Thank u

Last lot of Titaliums i looked at had C83 cores and used plain key pins and 1 plain + 5 spooled drivers. No idea what the sealed units have in them.

The small Titalium have all standard pins. I know it's the case at least in the 64TI/40 that I got, and a few people confirmed it on my local forum. Larger models do have security pins though.
