Hello all. I have a couple of what look like 4-pin half size tubular locks that were on a di-sub printer to protect against fingers going where they shouldn't and to load special media. I never had the key and these small tubular locks were more of an annoyance then to securely protect anything. If anything they would be to keep anyone other than the responsible person in charge from loading the media or replacing the di-sub film. They only have 4 pins but the smallness of the lock makes it difficult to put tension on the center and try to pick the individual pins. I am going to try to load an image in teh future, but don't have a place to make the data available on the internet. The few times I have come across these locks cannot justify buying a new pick made for them (if there is such a device). These typically were placed on low security places where a standard cam lock would be too big. I could probably contact the printer company and maybe talk them into selling me a key, but these locks are on printers that are considered obsolete and I am not sure the keys are available. Has anyone seen these locks with a drill to drill out the pins, and replacement locksets since the original locks will probably be destroyed? Am I overlooking anything? I am retired from locksmithing and would like to hear others opinions (or options). Thanks in advance!!
