since its chinese, and the ozzies know it, try rapping it open, or make a simple snap gun like the one deniro uses in the 'midnight run' movie. test it for one of those simple flaws found on cheap chinese locks, like the hard round wire that reaches through the keyway and engages and pulls back the locking dogs. and try shimming it, break open an old vhs tape, and get the thin piece of stainless steel spring that is heat mashed into one part of the case, lay the end of this on a softwood board along the grain of the wood, put the end of a phillips screwdriver on top of it along the first inch, then hit the screwdriver hard with a hammer, this will drive it into the wood and round the last inch of the thin steel spring, next, with a tin snips or file or grinder, taper that rounde tip like a knife blade, sharp to one side and rounde to the tip on the other side. slide this alongside the shackle of the lock, with the rounded part of the tip toward the inner body of the lock and push it in (the concept is to push back the locking dogs wilth the rounded,{bellied} part of the shim, you push it in, hold it in and pull out the shackle, if it does not open, try to push it further in as you push the shackle back in, and again hold it in as the shackle is pulled back out. You will want to bend the end you are holding close to the curve that you made with the screwdriver, and wrap it in tape to save your fingers from cuts. If you want to pick it and it has all those mushroom pins, put the pick in all the way to the back, lift all the pins with the pick, insert a tensor and apply hard pressure, then rock the pickshaft as you slowly lower it, and gradually release tension, this will allow the bottom pins to unbind, and the mushrooms may fall just to the step, (shearline.)
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

That is some interesting stuff raimundo,

1. the locking dogs can be with drawn through the key way with ease ( i have had to unlock many of these in the past year - i certainly wasn't going to stuff around picking the so i had to find other ways :) )

2. it can be shimmed with ease.

3. the springs are extremely soft, a snapgun or electric pick can open this type of lock in seconds.

4, its a cast iron lock - cut it open and have a look at the insides and look at the flaws, see what you can do in the future, to pick otr bypass this lock.

Thanks everyone.

I dropped it and it popped open... :0P

I think I'll get another and try some of that stuff out. :0)
Give me ambiguity, or give me something else.

I accidently learnt you could do that when i dropped one while picking out side. :D

i found today that bump keys work well and also snap picks work ok.

the made in china lock

I just picked this exact lock earlier today. I used an L-Rake and a wrench. It opened in a couple of seconds. Ease up on the pressure you put against the wrench. It doesn't take much at all.
