For seventy bucks you can buy yourself a tubular pick. http://www.selfdefenseproducts.com/lock ... _picks.htm
Just wiggle back and for th it for a minute in the lock, and if it is a kryptonite-type lock, it'll open right up. Even better, you'll have the key impression.

A little late in replying....

But after having read thru the posts, I've got to say, that £15 for a locksmith to come out and open a door is so cheap as to be laughable, try £60 or more, plus she was still liable for the call out charge reguardless of the work done or not done.
Show me idiot proof, I'll find me a bigger idiot.

For 70 bucks you could probably buy 3 new locks

Now I highly doubt he has any hexamethylenetetramine dinitrate, TNT, RDX, or C-4 lying around (or an explosives permit for that matter). So I guess there won't be fireworks (darn) :x

The most sensible thing to do is cut it and buy a new one unless it's cheaper to pay a person with a tubular pick.

He should just go borrow someones grinder and cutting wheel and get it over with.

I regularly open up my (Masterlock ?) U-Lock with a small pair of needle nose pliars, simply by grabbing the inside firmly and twisting. Granted, I think my lock is somewhat broken, but it usually takes me about 30 seconds to properly open it. That's a bit scary.

Why would someone want to 'cheat' their way into the advanced section?

how many people have tried this???

I was actualy wondering WHY he would want so badly to see the advanced section... it's only realy usefull if you are ADVANCED in lockpicking, and if you were you wouldn't bother to cheat...

I guess i regurgitated in a way what Santos said, but i was just wondering WHY..... i think that makes sense... :D
