I've seen a video or two on youtube.com where te person would do it one handed, but that was mostly on wafer locks. This is the first time i've seen it on a five pin door ock. Great job on his part. I like thae handels that he made for his picks. It seems he's been doing this a while. I'll have to go and try this later today.

it was one handed lockpicking that first inspired me to make the ergonomic handles that have a loop so your finger goes through the hole, this is an anti drop protection, you cant drop the pick and I use a rubberband to connect the tensor to my little finger, this guy is just doing it the hard way.

I just had to reply when I saw a link to my video. The picks in that video are about 2-3 years old I made the handles out of epoxy and I made them a bit big because I have big hands. The 1/2 diamond is made from a copping saw blade and the tension wrench is a coat hanger with a few loops to let it give some. I raked the last pin because I just couldn't feel it setting with the same hand I was picking with.

I picked an old kwickset 5 pin and a cheap 4 pin china padlock. I held the camera in my left hand and only used one tool as the pick and tension wrench. I can do almost 3 out of 5 on kwicksets and 3 out of 4 on cheap china padlocks with the one tool. I only get about 1 out of 3 on master padlocks and very few schlage locks with the one tool.

It's new members doing it. Happens all the time. For us they are old threads but for them it's all brand new.

Oh, well. I'd rather read necro bumps than new posts with the same old questions.

Me too. That and the catalyst of a self inflicted injury to my picking hand. I blame Johnny Walker and Tom Beringer.
