probably because the lock is considered a high security lock.
You just cant toss a pick inside the lock and expect it to pop open.... try an easier lock first after reading the MIT Guide.

i think you are pertaining to talking about ABUS, which is a german company, yes they tend to have alot of security pins. such as spool pins.

I would start with a Master Lock #5 since you can normally open them within 15 min or so if you are just learning... Once you understand how they work it should only take you anywhere from 5 to 25 seconds or so to open it up... I would then go for a simple 5 pin lock that can be purchase for around $8 or so from your local hardware store or ebay.

Security Pins can be really tricky if your just starting out due to the fact they give you false impressions of where the sheer line is... there are a number of good post here on the forums with pictures if you would like to take a look at the different type of security pins.

Good luck on ASSA.

I don't know of anyone who has picked one of those and I know a lot of locksmiths.

you need to down grade a bit here mate!

start off with something easier assa will destroy
your confidence if your not a good picker!

read through the sites various guides take the time
to get the basics right and it will reap rewards in the
future.

have patience and keep the tension light.

good luck

your profile says your a safe engineer!
are you a trading locksmith then?

it's a bit strange that you can pick safe locks but
cannot open an assa!
