Were you situated in a akward position while bumping?
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Marble material?!
That's like getting prepared to bump a lock and suddenly you notice you have forgotten/misplaced your bump-hammer and reach down to pick up a golfball size rock and giving it a good wack at it and miss the the key and hit your hand.
For real though, try a softer material to use like good solid piece of dense plastic. Also, you shouldn't have to hit the key hard, start out with a light tap and gradually hit it harder till you get it to work.

ok first off, bumping ur own door is worse than picking ur own door. especially if your hitting it that hard. if you shear off the shoulder ull mess up the lock nicely.
I would love to help you but ive seen you youtube videos. search for bumping techniques as its been discussed to death on here.

no tardy, trying to figure out what action you were doing to pull your thumb.... did you somehow get it caught in something?... bend it up or what... I seriously can't figure out what you could be doing to pull your thumb whilst bumping
and also marble... way too heavy/ hard... look at the professional bump hammers... they are made of plastics and look at their design as well ... get an idea of what to do..........
and I hope dearly you know how to remove a mangled lock from a door and have a replacement cylinder near by if that is your house door

I have hit my thumb tring to bump open a few padlocks. I also have also gotten my thumb pinched between the key and lock. I now use a rubber coated plastic bump hammer that can't hurt my thumb now(well it hurts a lot less). I was going to make a joke youtube video of me using a 5 pound sledge hammer as a bump hammer but then I figured someone might really try it.
