guide to convert .MOV to DivX/avi
http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/mov2divx.html
another one: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/mov2avi.html (better then the first)
another one (best one probably): http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/mov2avi.htm

guide to convert .RM to DivX/avi

if you need any of the software mentioned above and there are no links to it in the guides, it can be found on this page:

(this site is legit, all software on it is freeware/shareware... no warez involved anywhere)

On the quicktime front, you can get "Quicktime Alternative" for windows, search for it on google, it's just the codecs and no bs. Lets you play it in WMP. The codec actually isn't that bad, but the software is.

On linux, most players like Xine should be able to play it, I think... haven't had to watch a .mov on linux yet, so I don't know.

technik, you should consider use vlc player, its VERY good, plays almost every movie i ever tryied with it. No need for codec neither. www.videolan.org. To luke(?), if you need a place to upload your files, i know a place where they give you 30mb for free to use, ftp also. But, heres something funny, you can upload more than 30mb, yes you can upload many gb's. But high bandwith they will find out and they will delete the files, but then you can just upload the files again : :D. Interested? It cost 1,5$ i think to get ftp, or 10 norwegian kroner. I can pay that for you if you can help me with something.....
