Heay Guys Just got done reading MIT guide once more, Been practicing on the picture of the door knob I posted , and only go a couple of pins set, I been using the hooks and the diamond picks.

ANY ADVICE FOR THE PIN TUMBLER "DOOR KNOB"
PLEASE HELP ME

I am popping master locks like crazy 12 in 2 minutes and 13 seconds.
I learn fast .
I dieing to learn the door knobs anyway I know it takes patience but u get so anxious.
ANY ADVICE PLEASE HELP ME ANYTHIN WITH THE SNAP GUN ETC>>>

knobs can be tricky because they have quite a bit of play in them. I usually try to hold the knob with my hand while i am picking to hold the knob steady.

If I were you, I'd go buy myself a $9 Kwikset single cylinder deadbolt, and remove 3 of the pins, and work up to 5, that way you get a feel of how a cylinder that size feels. Then move to the doorknob lock....

I HAVE A ? for u can u please tell me one thing how would I remove the pins out I NEED INSTRUCTIONS I'm a idiot I tried that on a master pad lock and the dam springs poped everywhere i put them in a little bag (all the pieces) How Can I do that (remove the pins and not destroy the lock.....

you need a plug follower. On the kwikset locks there is a cap on top of the top chambers that you can remove and just dump the pins and springs out and just add one stack from there without worrying about stuff flying everywhere. :wink:

And how do I but it back together.

I now it the spring on top and then the 2 pins with the pointy one on the bottom. right can u correct me if I'm wrong.
Please tell me the proper way THXS A BUNCH....

this may help you more than anything as it has some diagrams. http://www.kwikset.com/website/images/R ... Manual.pdf. You will need adobe reader to view this file. If you dont have it you can search for it on yahoo its free.

Any More Info PLEASE TELL ME I want to be able to pick them door knobs and dead bolt them r my goal THXS ALL I get the pad lock down path.... Also what picks should I use for the dead bolts and the door knobs , and the kwik set project I am gonna do tommorom....


Oh So when i buy the lock don't pick it right,
take it apart and leave 1 pin in there and pick that 100 or more times then
add another pin so there will be 2 and pick them like 100 times each . then add 3 pick them 100 each etc...., etc....

When up against a door knob, I hold the knob in my left hand, with my thumn and fore finger, like I was making a C. I use my forefinger to tension the lock. Thus, I keep the knob steady, and limit severly the amount of tension I can apply, just so that I dont get overzealous and attempt to use the tension wrench to retract the bolt.
