Mabey the lock is taking all the vibrations of the pins bouncing, and you should all know that sound is vibrations hitting your eardrums, so mabey its absorbing all the vinbrations....just a guess though I myself have never tryed shacking a lock...I just flip it upside down to see which pins drop meaning they are set as the driver pins cant push it up as they are stuck on the shear line.....
