I don't know if this is any help but do your other doors have locks like that?
I know that houses in my city have those locks on every door in the house, you can also use the same key on all the locks in all the houses(i think it was just for decoration, or to offer some privacy). So if you wanted you could go to your friend's house and lock their doors because i dont think anyone actually owns a key.
I would just buy a skeleton key, i've seen them in stores and it should work, or make something.

this is a little off topic, but is it possible to make a warded pick out of a skeleton key? because i just moved into my house and before renovating i found 2 skeleton keys with 1 big notch on each of them lying around.

It's not a lever lock, it's just a warded lock. Essentially when you put the key in and turn it it is directly moving a bolt back and forth, the bolt probobly looks something like this:
- Code: Select all
______________ | ____ | |_____/ \___|
And when you insert the key to lock it, the key goes like so: - Code: Select all
______________ | ____ | |_____/# \___| # #
Try going to antique shops/thrift stores sometimes they sell keys that work for locks like these., So when you turn it it pushes the bolt one way or the other (locking/unlocking): - Code: Select all
______________ | ____ | |_____/# \___| # #

Those won't work. It isn't a warded lock, there are no wards. Those picks are for locks such as the warder master padlocks. With the barrel in the keyway, you wouldn't even be able to fit them into the lock.

I spent an age trying to pick a small wardrobe lock like this. In the end, I got it by using a bent Allen key that I filed until it was just the right length to turn it.
I then went to the local shop and bought another, identical lock for £1-50. So now I have a key, plus a spare lock!
