Homemade Lockpick materials?

Postby Mindtrap53 » 18 Nov 2005 19:36

Hey, I was wondering what materials that I could use to make picks and tension wrenches. Mostly the tension wrenches. I've only hear of allen wrenches for them, but nothing else. :?

You could use wiper blade inserts, the search function, street sweeper bristles, the search function, hair pins, the search function, some thick wire pounded flat, the search function, or nearly anything else the is the right shape... and the search function. ;)

The search function will not fit in my lock, it is a bit too big.
Any other ideas ?

I just measured..my search function is 0.7 inches long, and my locks keyway is 0.8 (warded locks are fun)

try cramming it in the keyway really hard and use heavy tention

street sweeper are the best, you can make picks also with them, don't forget to temper after grinding or heat bending.

Unfortunately UK locks have thinner keyways so my search function will not fit (despite hitting it with a hammer).

A slimline FAQ fits perfectly though.

Hacksaw blades might work but as your a newbie i would stick to the search button, if you carefully use the FAQ as a template you can narrow your question down so they will both fit

Use pyros video as a tension wrench and your away.

Well, it was probably informative for one person. ;)

You know, I can't help but think we may have been a little hard on the newbie. Notice he hasn't come back? :? :)
