Hey all ok i have this key to a locker from a local amusement part. I rented the key for a locker which by the way have changed and forgot to return it, losing my security deposit or 6$!! :x Anyway the lockers have since then changed as this was about 3 years ago, and i found this key now its unusualin the fact that i have never seen anything like it.

Let me do my best to explain and i iwll try to get a picture of it soon.

It it is a typical key for a locker but the cool thing about this one is it has only on the sides a cut out line in a random twisting order.

What type of lock is this? My thoughs were a pin tumbler with pins on the sides, but the tricky thing is there are no diffrence in hieghts.

Like i said i will try to get a picture up asap. but if anybody has any ideas i would be interested to know. As far as ways to pick it, i dont really care because its for a locker and odds are if its your you have the key so theres no need to pick. Any info on what type of lock mechinism would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks andy...newbie

Its often referred to as a Bell style lock, or now a days, a "laser track" lock. Even though no lasers are involved in cutting the keys.

Hey chucklz, thanks for the info man. Hey i noticed you were semi close to where i live, i'm in reading Pa, If i recall correctly you told me about a lock picking meeting that you have? How far is easton to reading pa? If its within a half hour or so i would gradley participate in the meeting. Seeing as anyone who thinks of picking the thought of criminology come immediatly into par. Hence i live outside one of the most crime oriented cities in the world...no lie seen it on CNN one night :D but anyway as far as the meetings it would be a great oppurtunity to meet some fellow pickers and refresh and learn some new skills and tricks. Well buddy i have to get to bed its like 11 and i need to get up and hopefully score an apprenticeship or atleast a job with this locksmith i recently found. Look forward to hearing from you man cya

I would still like to see a picture of this key. I have on my condo here in miami a schlage 6 pin h/s lock on my front door, and it also has some weird lines on the side that are not just ward groves. at about 3/4 of the way back from the tip of the key the ward groove gets about 3 times as thick, it then recesses more into the key. This is only about a 6mm grove but it then goes back to the normal warding groves on the key. I can pick about any lock that I have touched so far(well over 500 locks owned) but I can not open this for the life of me. Does anyone know about some sort of pick resistant side mechanism on schlage's? I will post a picture tom when I get my cam back from my buddy.
I hear what you are saying.....that doesn't mean I agree with you....Just that I am nodding my head to placate you and silence your futile attempts to win the argument.

Your schlage is either the Primus or Everest line. A picture of the side of the key would sort it immediately. The everest is rather easy to pick once you know its trick, while the Primus is far less forgiving.

Here is some great info on the Everest
