Postby brandonb5269 » 20 Mar 2006 20:20

Hey guys i recently accuired a large quantity of "BEST" lock cores, with manny different pin arangments. im eager to start pickign at them, but i do not have the I-CORE tension tool needed. i was woundering if you can make them? or would i be better off buying one? If i can make one i could make it and then intill i order my new one use that one.

Well any information on these locks and the I-CORE tension tools would be greatly appreciated

HAHA!!! SFIC's

SFIC's....

I've got a bunch of them now. A bunch of 5 pins, some six, and one seven. I've been picking them for a while now. They are all the same except for their keyway and pinnings (obviously). I have successfully picked all but the 2 that i've tried. The evil padlock has still yet to give in to me, and I haven't really tried with the other.

As for the I-Core tools- I got 'em! But to be honest, I'm not that impressed. I've tried to pick a control line with them multiple times, but to no avail. I have had them for only about a week. They come with instructions to help you use them. Also, anything from peterson is topnotch.

Making? I tried making a few from wiper blade inserts. I turned the core upside down, and then filed the insert to make fingers that fit in the hole.

brandon,

If the cores are not installed in a lock body, you dont need the comtrol tension tool to pick control, just tension the lug with your finger.
