Locks I've picked so far

Postby TheMikeMan » 27 Apr 2006 9:47

I have picked:

1 Kwikset 5-pin deadbolt
9 Kwikset kik cylinders
1 Ilco 5-pin mortice cylinder
1 Ace 5-pin mortice cylinder
1 Amarlite 5-pin mortice cylinder
1 Master #1 padlock
2 Master locking bar things for hitches
2 Yakima wafer lock IC Cores
1 wafer lock on my dad's toolbox
1 "Taylor" branded overhead door lock

The only scary thing is that those Yakima cores have a retaining wafer in the back of the lock, and you can remove the entire core with out fully picking it. We have one of those bike carrier things, and at any given time, there's at least $1200 worth of bikes on there.

I have a double wafer lock with a retaining wafer but when the lock is locked the retaining wafer has another little bit that when pressed sticks out of the other side of the core to stop it being removed.

i.e. you can't remove the core if it's locked.

When it's unlocked I can remove the core with a paperclip.

LOL

mikeman, you say you've picked a master lock number 1. is that the same as a master lock with the keyhole in back and combo in front? if so,
HOW!? i havent been able to shim or pick this master lock combo/key deal all weekend and its been driving me crazy. i have picked my safe, a couple other padlocks and some smaller junk this weekend also.
thanks.

The generic master combo/key is the first thing I shimmed, first thing I systematically bypassed the combo, and one of the first things I picked (although I find the restrictive keyway irritating). Those things come off to me as just a sign that says "please don't steal my stuff." And to think back in high school every single person had one on their locker...
