SPP or single pin picking in many cases is easier and in others raking... some times the combination of both is best but I suggestSPP to learn on

The binding pin will be the one thats harder to push up or feels like it is "binding". Hope that helps, though sometimes I have a hard time knowing for sure if I've got the binding pin but its getting easier the more I practice. Just keep practicing it gets easier.
As to whether single pin picking or raking is easier well, I try to single pin pick because I'm trying to build on that skill. But I find that the easiest method to pick the locks that I'm working with would be to go through and get most of the pins set then to rake it a couple of times then it pops right open. In fact I have yet to "purely" rake a lock open but I guess I just haven't practiced enough (I'm still very much a noob but I'm learning more about it all the time)
Hope you found something useful or the information you were looking for within all that, sorry I'm really long winded.

raking is almost always faster if it works, but you should learn to spp so won't be helpless against locks that resist raking.
