I have a old combination lock and my dad said he'd give me a hundred dollars if i could crack it. I thought it would be a sinch since i have done it before, but the sticking numbers were:
2.5
12.5
22.5
32.5
9
19
29
39
6
16
26

Why not try all the sticking points as the 3rd digit. There are wonderful excel spreadsheets that will generate all 64 numbers per stopping point. For a hundred dollars, its not too much of a hassle. I estimate that the average person could dial 6 combinations per minute, which would mean you would spend about 2 hours trying all those combinations.

Did he specify any ground rules? If not I've got a nifty set of bolt cutters you could use.

Or you could drill a small hole in the back, determine the combination, and the lock would be still usable.

So what you think, we will have the first person banned for spam?

It's much more complex than finding 'sticking numbers'. If you MUST use that way, remember this:
-The dial doesn't stick ON numbers. You can rotate it back and forth. Graph these numbers to the quarter (0.25, 0.5, 0.75, etc.)
-There are 3 different groups of 4. 4 are in this form: __.25-__.75, 4 are like this: __.75-__.25, and 3 are like so: __.0 - __.0.
-Then see which number is out of sequence with the others (i.e., it has a different one's digit or has the highest quarter values for each end of the sticking range.)
-goto www.geocities.com/masterunlocked/
THIS IS NOT THE EASY WAY! I've developed a method that will work in a coupla minutes if it does.

Because doing so may be discouraged by the admins.... i don't want to give out more information than i'm allowed in this forum.
Plus I would rather not make my info publicly viewable yet. I'm not being selfish, but would rather hold back.
Like i said, if you want it, e-mail me. I have it on my computer and i'd be glad to send you a copy if you want to try it. Otherwise, i'm sure you can get better info if you search for it.
Thanx.

Heh, I got a copy of the tutorial, works very well. Also, the serial number to my master lock starts with the same digits as Cameron's, so that may or may not have anything to do with it. I'm going to go purchase a couple more locks right now.

Cameron,
Has it dawned on you yet, that someone with the ability to edit your post to say "Edited by Chucklz... ..Post you tutorial." may just have given you the permission you were seeking in order to post?
...or is there another reason you don't post it?

I've recieved nothing, absolutley nothing, as an authorization. Phoenix asked me for a copy to approve, but i've not heard a thing yet.
As for an another reason, what do you suspect? If you're going to criticize me, out with it. Meanwhile, i can assure you that there's no "secret illegal thing" included. i include a disclaimer with the tutorial... so i'm not the one responsible.
Otherwise, thanks for your concern... i'll keep it in mind.
Suggestions welcome, but if i need criticized i'll ask for it.
