So I just picked up an arcade game off ebay. However, i did not realize that the arcade game did not have a key to the lock. I've already dropped $1750 on this game, and would like to not drop any more money on getting the lock professionaly picked. How would i go about succesfully picking this lock?

1. ask the seller for a key..
2. post a photo of you next to the lock + a CLEAR Photo of the lock, keyway

I searched ebay and found mickst3r here and found the last thing he bought was March 18 2002 so most likely it isn't his.
Seek and ye shall find.

Having just built my own arcade game cabinet, I can say it's an awesome thing to have, enjoy
As for the lock, I used a lock supplied by an arcade game parts supplier designed to work with a standard coin door, it's nothing special. It's just a standard tubular lock, older cabs may use a different type, wafer most likely.
If it's your cab then you will have no problems opening it, of course if it's a cab in an environment outside of your control, then their could be an alarm attached and in any case not a good idea to open a lock you don't own!

Sorry if we all sound a little suspicious but the majority of people that ask those types of questions when they first join the forums end up being up to no good.

Im not sure where it was said that tubular locks are not discussed in the open forums
You are correct though that tubular locks are discussed in the open forums but that wasnt the subject at hand,
But as always has been we do not include info on the open forums on how to break into vending machines regardless of what lock is on them, the op has been promised an answer to his problem in full and privately should he provide proof of ownership but he hasnt,
We dont know if its his machine or one at his school or work place we neither know if its somthing like a van lock or such like either,

"opening vending locks of any type are not discussed on the open forum,"
Now that I re-read it I can see that you said vending, not tubular. My bad. I just think it's wierd that if he had done a little research he could have come here and found all the information he needed. People that might have a legitimate issue and request, get flamed and told that there $50 shouldn't matter to them, by some people. Others request proof and are then willing to be helpful, which is the way I think it should be handled.

And be sure to hold up a squirrel next to the machine so we know you didn't just go grab any random videogame picture off of google.
