Would any more advanced lock pickers ever consider helping someone new (me) learn how to lock pick. I have read over countless articles and have read the whole MIT guide, but I have always found that I learn best person to person. If anyone has the time it would be greatly appriciated.

there are a number of videos all over, youtube in particular, that are "for educational purposed only" that teach you.
in addition, there are a number of videos floating around HERE that show you.

Its good that you have read up on lockpicking, and when you find some videos on youtube that is going to help you aswell. But dont forget, the best way to learn how to pick a lock is to get yourself a practice lock, a good set of lockpicks, and keep practicing, and practicing and once your finished with that, go and practice some more!

The animations provided by Deviant Ollam is very good at explaining the lockpicking procedure. It's like the MIT guide brought to life. http://deviating.net/lockpicking/
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Oh I am aware of all the videos out. What I meant was like an AIM instant video chat like live so that any questions could be answered as they are teaching.

ok, heres how to go about it:
read all you can.
practice all you can.
watch all you can.
search for whatever problems you might have on the forums.
read all you can again.
if you cannot find a suitable answer, then either post on an existing thread on the subject, or create a useful, searchable, well written thread on the subject asking your question.
if you follow these steps, it will work. while it would be great to have live video training sessions, and some people may do it now, it isnt necessary, and you can learn this the old fashioned way.
if you happen to find someone that will do it your way for you, all the better, but me personally, i think it will be hard to come by.

Click my www button, everyone learns from text and those that try to use videos tend to be held back a little,
What your suggesting isnt worth the efort as web cams are too poor and its not the same as one on one tutoring which is easy,
Good luck if you find someone and chose to learn this way but i dont hold out a lot of hope to be honest, what you will get is basicaly what is on youtube,

you can always watch my youtube videos.
i try to make them so that they teach you, instead of me just picking locks, i really get into how locks work, and techniques, pictures, etc.
but plz, watch them in order or you will be all confused
