Talking about safes ends here and I really doubt that safe can be opened with picks. It ain't safe then. however, i can't manage to open pin tumbler locks on doors.
Why are you picking doors? plz help- which pick should i use?
plz?? What the...please do not use chat language, or are you referring to the Polish currency unit PLZ or the German equivalent for zip code?is there a specific method of picking or raking?
Well, as this is a hobby and not a job, raking will get you nowhere. Yeah sure, you can rake, but it will not teach you anything and it will not work on all locks. Single pin picking (SPP) is the way to go and learn, that way there is no limits as to what you can pick.
I suggest to buy a repinnable lock (deadbolt cylinder maybe) and search from this forum for the stickied picking guide made by digital_blue. Also the L.I. guide to lockpicking sould be pretty good reading.
Other than that, welcome to the site and I hope you find your home here

No you can't become a lock pick but you can strive to be one with your lock pick if you follow the Zen lesson in the MIT guide.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Shrub, I think that should be a capital letter then, before you critizise other peoples grammer! No-one is perfect, you could probably (and probably will) pick mistakes with mine too because you are a smart arse.

Captal letter to start a sentence. Full stop to end one, not a comma!

Matt-the-rat, I think you have crossed The Shrub-line in the last two posts. I think that Shrub meant with the grammar those "u", "y" and "plz" type of points in the sentences, not the actual grammar.
You have a point thou with the ending-comma Shrub uses, it has raised my curiosity as to "why a comma and not a period?", but I've left it as a mystery

It's his unique way of making the end of his sentences seem mysterious.

Sorry to dis-continue the debate on language. Shifting to the source topic -
I believe the best way to practice on a pin tumbler in the vertical position is to buy a cheap one and clamp it in a vice or you could get youself a board of wood and mount your pin tumbler in there so that you can practice without fear of making a relied upon lock un-fuctional(better to be safe than sorry, plus you can then practice anytime day or night).
Any lockpickng resource should have the basics on pin tumblers if you need to understand the lock and tools.
Hope this helps

I was aksed this via pm recently so at least one of you know the answer the rest of you could get your search fu honed and find a post made a long time ago explaining it

I think I'm Zen with my Search-Fu, as I found the topic with the first search (only two results)
