I dont know what brand it is, but its a 7 pin tubular lock, you need one of these http://southord.com/images/fullsize/tpxa-7.jpg to open it as long as you own the lock, and it is not in use.

Considering these locks secure vending machines and Harley-Davidsons. The above question definately needs to be answered before any help is given.

Looks like it's mounted on a Sentry safe or something.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

picture of lock

Postby mickh25 » 29 Aug 2007 1:23

i bought this lock off a car boot sale to practice on with my southord pics i have both 7 and 8 pins. the lock was on a thick piece of wire arround 30cm long which was used to make a complete circle and hence it was used for decuring bikes. my

my southord pics do not go inside due no nitch in the center section.
if i had noticed i would not have bought it ! but now i want to practice on this lock as i have tried and tried without any success.

I have the same problem mate, i come across a lot of these without keys in my job. They work from the "fin" on the key instead on the notch in the middle of the centre. The only way your picks will work is if you remove the notch from the centre of your pick, and silver solder a precise kind of fin on the top/end of your pic in which to index the lock when turned. The idea is you cant get the pick back out till its back at 12:00. Ive been meaning to try it but i'm waiting till i get some cheaper southords, i dont wanna damage my hpcs.

Here's a better picture of the same kind of lock

Hahaha no mate its not! i install projectors in schools and those type of locks hide the allen-key bolt heads below them so they cant be un-done. That particular part it for linking two projector poles together and hiding both sets of bolt heads. Thankyou very much anyway! Id like to see a modified pic if anyone has spares to try it on.
