1 way to open a Master #140

Postby Varjeal » 8 Apr 2004 20:13

A friend of a friend handed me a Master #140 4 wheel combo lock the other day and defied me to open the lock without tools.

I took a peek at the lock, smiled, and by the time he was done bragging about how great this lock was, I yawned and opened it. Here's how it was done:

I rotated each wheel through it's cycle from 0 to 9, examining them carefully. Then, I lined up the wheels to the mark at the number that had the most finish worn off, in this case, 1905. Lock opened. :) Just a tip for those of you wanting to impress your friends or to whup someone in a competition. ;)

Of course, when this "friend" asked me to show him how it was done, I used the ol' "I'd show you, but then I'd have to kill you." line...for some reason, he didn't think it was as funny as I did. 8)
