I took a peek at the lock, smiled, and by the time he was done bragging about how great this lock was, I yawned and opened it. Here's how it was done:
I rotated each wheel through it's cycle from 0 to 9, examining them carefully. Then, I lined up the wheels to the mark at the number that had the most finish worn off, in this case, 1905. Lock opened.


Of course, when this "friend" asked me to show him how it was done, I used the ol' "I'd show you, but then I'd have to kill you." line...for some reason, he didn't think it was as funny as I did.
