How do you open a T-Handle Lock?

Postby Slapnuts » 15 Apr 2004 11:37

I'm new at this so help me out. How can you tell what kind of lock it is? There is a T-Handle lock that I would like to open, but am clueless as to what to do. Can anyone help me out?

Here is a link of what a T-Handle Lock looks like....i'm sure you can figure out the rest.

The regular keys for this are those stubby ones that are cylinder shaped with a slight pick on it. I don't know if this helps but the inside of the lock where the key goes in, the mark is facing down on the bottom.

I personally like to insert 2 bent paperclips into the lock, kneel in front of the machine, and rock the machine back and forth wildly......

I know, I know this one!! There is this magic tool that opens the lock every time, unless of course the lock has been vandalized, or the tool is simply too worn to complete its function. The best part about this tool, is that every lock tends to come with one two, or even three of them!

Chucklz: You've forgotten about the OTHER near-magical tool...the one where you stand real close to the machine, then put that special box close to the lock and your ear, you press a few buttons (usually 7, but sometimes 10 or 11), speak the password and wait about 20 minutes.

Then, you step back away from the beverage dispensing machine and watch the magic work. :)

I personally always felt that a little, homemade pipe bomb would do the trick...your soda might be a little flat after that though....

N.B. requires two persons.

1. Both persons are required to transport the lock (complete with whatever is attached to it) to the paraphet of the tallest building in the area.
2. Place lock (complete with whatever is attached to it) on edge of parapet.
3. One person runs back down to ground level and stands upon an aiming point, as a sight marker.
4. The second person propels the lock (complete with whatever is attached to it) in a trajectory which will impact the aiming point, then runs back down to ground level to join his partner on the aiming point.
5. Hopefully, the laws of gravity versus time do not apply in this experiment and both get to witness (or not) the opening (or not) of the lock.
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!
