Your picks in the second picture, take a good look at them. Notice those extremely sharp edges? You should sand them round from the edges and then sand the whole thing smooth. This way you don't mess up your practice locks.

They're decent for (first-time?) homemade picks. How well do they work? What all have you used them on? I agree that they could be polished up a little.
