Light LIGHT tension. I just started yesterday and I find that light tork, the slightest possible amount of pressure is usually the key. Tell me if this helps it helped me.

I've tried that... what tends to happen is when your picking your pick hits the sides of the keyway and counter-acts the weight of the tension wrench. This is why you have to keep a light but STEADY tension at all times.

You can obtain steady tension on a door lock using rubber bands strung together with a push pins (wood door) or magnetic hooks (metal doors). Simply set the wrench in position and string a rubber band to the pin or hook on the door at the appropriate distance to keep a light tension. And... you have an extra hand free in case you have an itch. (Same rubber band trick can be used when reaching into and around a door to remove the chain.)

If you knew you were going to die and you could make one last phone call, who would you call, what would you say, and why are you waiting?

light tension opens most locks ..except bi-locks and papaiz padlocks but newbies don't need to know about them yet..
WhiteHat..blowing in a keyhole and it opens..it'd be cool but its never gonna happen

Dust, dirt, debris or what not in the keyhole.
He opened the keyhole by blowing, but still had to manipulate the lock.

it's hard to maintain a constant level of tension when you're blowing so I usually use one of those portable fans attached to my pick....

And if you find that blowing on the lock is too much force, invite your ex around and the tension in the air should do the trick....
