OK I just started picking and I have two crappy picks and a wrench...now I kno that u put the pick in the back of the lock and feel the pins and line them up on the shear line...but actually I don't kno what that means...i move from the back to the front...or front to back...thats my first question and also I kno u keep the pick perpendicular but how do u kno for sure if the pins are straight or if ur just an idiot putting a piece of metal in the lock jiggling it for a while and hopping u get lucky and it opens...ALL I WANT IS A START TO FINISH GUIDE TO PICKING SOMETHING SIMPLE LIKE A PADLOCK....I started like a week ago and i kno it takes months and years to master but i can't even practice cause i don't know what I am doing....If someone could help me at all my sanity would be grateful

Since you like to post the same questions, Ill give you the same answer....
Search. Read the faqs on this site. Read the MIT guide. Read them again till you completely understand them. Take a deadbolt apart, see what is actually happening inside the lock. Read some more. Avoid raking to start. Read the MIT guide again. Buy yourself a big mac. Remember light tension on the plug. Eat the big mac. Read the faqs again...... see where this is going?

Boomer,

If you live in a shed, then a padlock is the lock that you put on your pad! :)

If you are serious, a padlock is a small lock with a shackle that can be locked through a hasp or chain to secure something. (like a shed)

www.padlocks.com or similar may yield some pictures for you. If you would like to pick them as a hobby, then you have come to the right place. Read the MIT guide, FAQs and anything else you can get your hands on!

...don't forget to read the rules as well! :)
