FAYNE 105 Series Picking tip needed.

Postby Varjeal » 13 Aug 2004 10:12

I'm looking for tips on picking the FAYN 105FK series of locks. A friend of mine recently returned from a vacation in Russia and brought me one of these locks.

For those of you who don't know, this particular lock uses a "+" shaped key. It contains 3 sets of two pins. It also looks like I'm going to need an extra fat tension wrench in order to fit into the lock properly. (Might be a good time for a small bent-tipped screwdriver).

I'm not looking for bypass tips either. Does someone from over the pond have a favorite technique or a parts breakdown pic of this lock? I wouldn't mind having a view of that before attempt to disassemble. Preferrably in English if you please.

Thought I'd pick up some quick info while I'm fashioning a tension tool for it.

Thanks.

Oh for the love of Pete.

I told this to Varjeal earlier, and I might as well tell everyone else.

Get a one inch long piece of small diameter thin wall tubing. About the same diameter as the outside points on the cross.

File the tubing so that there are three or four "pins" (depending on if you have a three or four way croos) that fit at the top of each point. Test to be sure that you can insert the pins into the keyway.

There, you now have a hollow tension tool. Insert a normal pick whit twisting the tubing. Pick each side of the lock as normal.
