The internet is a wonderful place. Just filled with websites from companies you may already have heard of.

Paramount Pictures, MGM Studios, 20th Century Fox, General Electric, McDonell Douglas, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Yale, Kaba, Abloy, and oh yes MASTER LOCK COMPANY.

Geez man, look around. Go here, just since I am being nice today.

Well whats the problem. That lock is so sloppy and loose its pretty easy to read whats going on inside. I like to open #3s with heavier torque, but thats just me.

I tend to employ vigorous raking with medium torque - but not too heavy.

Medium torque while scrubbing usually opens them in a few seconds. If you don't set all the pins scrubbing, go back and try to feel each pin set. Other than that...not sure what the problem is?

I just stick my pick in and mine pops open...

i use a pretty heavy torque... and go pin by pin (im still learning so and im tols that its best that i try to ACTUALLY pick it)

i opened 2 new locks today :D so im pretty happy and i think that i am really starting to get a feel for what a lock needs to open (now if i just had a slightly better array of torque wrenches)

if you have the key you might look at it to get a reference of approx. where the pins should set, that will probably help... if the pins set low in the front and high in the back then you might have a tough time (ive got one that does that and im finding it very difficult)

from what I understand many people find you helpful and a seemingly nice guy, thus they are willing to go out on a limb and help you out of your bind.... from this post i cannot say that i agree

please dont take this as bashing.... but for pete's sake, helping a n00b out doesnt require that much sarcasm

Heh, I remember the original post.

I also remember that particular day. 15 new questions, all by new users, and every single one of the questions which were answered in the FAQs.

In the FAQs for heaven sake. No search required, just start reading.

By the time I got to this one, I was just a little bit in a twist about all of them, so my sarcasm level was a little up from normal.

If you want to go by my posts, hit the profile button, and then click on "Find all posts by Romstar" and read away.

You are going to find a lot. Some of it sarcastic, some (a lot) very long, and some I am afraid downright silly. There may be some that display anger, or more serious sarcasm, maybe even mockery but I certainly hope not.

The point is, I am human, and like any other human I am prone to moods, I am prone to emotions, and I am terribly prone to sarcasm. All of these posts still exist because I don't believe in going back to make something look better than it is.

It is currently 6:20 am here, and I have been up all night. There are three transfers going on from my MSN messenger of lock picking material to new users. There is an FTP file transfer coming in from Kaba with material to be used in a new lock picking guide, and I am here, on LP101 doing the best job I can as a moderator and hopefully something of a teacher.

I don't ask for anything for doing all of these jobs, nor did I expect the sort of assistance that I have gotten. To say that I was blown away would be an understatement.

The only thing I like to see is people who really want to apply themselves. Lock picking takes some skill, some talent, and a whole lot of patience and practice. This means a lot of time reading as much as it does using the picks, and working the locks.

I welcome questions with open arms, as it gives me the opportunity to keep material fresh in my mind as I type it up here to answer those questions. For questions that I don't have the answers to, it gives me the opportunity to learn something new for myself, and to share that information with other people.

Perhaps the sarcasm was a bit harsh, but you will note that I did in fact provide the link to the lock in question. If more questions had been forthcoming, I would most likely have been a bit more in depth. Nobody learns to pick a lock with someone holding their hand. They have to understand the workings, and interpret the feelings they are getting. That's different for each person, and as I said, requires both study, and practice. That means a willingness to look for the information. The Master #3 is the most recomended and discussed padlock on these forums. I can't possibly imagine a search not turning up some useful information on that lock.

Maybe I was a bit out of sorts, but as I said, I am after all, human.

Am I the only one who, after reading Romstars long post and the short reply that followed, burst out laughing?
