A New Level of Stupid

Postby Theist17 » 5 Aug 2011 22:15

I recently acquired a little Schlage deadbolt with which I've been playing for the past few days. Four out of the five pins are topped with spools, so it's been fun.

Tonight, however, I have reached a new low. I got my kit together, went for a quick single pin picking attempt, set a couple of pins, and then. . . poof. My feedback was gone. I was slipping off of everything. For the life of me, I couldn't understand it. All this skill I'd acquired over these last few months was suddenly gone! I couldn't set a thing!

I had my short hook in upside-down, and I had somehow managed to pick the lock without noticing. Rotation and all.

I am the dumbest man alive. Hahaha
There is no means by which I can be removed from the love of God. For this, I am indescribably glad.

Hey, at least you didn't make the mistake I just posted about. I had to explain to my wife that she married a moron.

Sounds like you had a false set, and when you inserted the hook upside down, you managed to "knock" the pin back into place, did you notice a 10 or so degree rotation, or when you put the hook in upside down, some counter rotation?
