Shaky plugs vs Sturdy plugs in Padlocks

Hey, guys.

I have realized padlocks with plugs that shake, almost rattle, in the housing of padlocks (like Master Lock N.3) are rather easier to pick compared to other padlocks with really sturdy plugs. What's the right approach to pick these locks?

This (below) is a padlock I have a hard time to pick. I don't know what brand it is, all I know it has 4 pins, 44 mm and it was made in China.

I remember seeing these exact same ones at my old hardware store. I do believe they are some kind of no name type lock although i cannot be certain. And i agree for example i can pick all my 4 differently keyed master #3s (i know they are easy) before the one i have similar to yours. Perhaps there is less room for the pins to move around and somewhat bind easier? I may(probably) be wrong though.

When I try to pick this lock I notice that the plug will hardly move when I apply tension. I have to really put some effort (for lock picking) to move the plug. The lock was never exposed to the elements and its practically brand new.

I would still go with light tension, because wether it is sturdy or not its stilll the same concept except the plug is locked in place, it may be harder to notice when pins are binding but all in all i would say feather tenson, im sure somone on here can advise you better then me because i am just saying this from my knowledge.

I was finally able to open it and you are correct. The tension must be light, what I was missing was that last push on the tension tool to actually unlock the padlock.
