Am i jumping the guns????

Postby MrSheerLine » 9 Apr 2012 2:55

Okay basically i have been starting to lock pick about 2-3 weeks ago,

Now at first i made made myself a practice board before i got my locks, my boss gave me a bunch of old locks from our store.

i only dismantled one lock so i can keep the two spool pins in at the front so i get the feel, now i can open all the yale locks, a ruki or ruko? its a danish one. and a union cylinder.

now am i jumping the guns to quick here or is it okay to do this? i know what i am feeling for its just my coordination within the lock, i can only seem to pick a lock with my eyes closed.

and ive found with one of the yale locks that i can gaurentee that if i use the long rake or what ever its called in one or two strokes it slightly tilts so then i know its the two front pins which are spools and i can pick them.

Please anyone let me know your thoughts, as i want to learn properly.

many thanks

Jamie

put down the rake if you wish to learn to pick a lock and learn how it works from feel and sound.

when you learn to SPP you will know how to choose the correct pin to set, hope this helps! good luck :D

Take apart the locks and rearrange the pins and then try picking them again.
