I also have just started posting in this forum, but have been working as a locksmith for a few years.
Why don't you post pictures of the locks that are giving you trouble, I know many people here could identify them immediately, and probably work with them on a daily basis. Also, look at the keys - while this wont tell you if there are security pins, it may help you establish if the pins are setting and not just binding from overpicking.

I imagine if you've been picking for two years you know that 'less is more,' usually. but one thing to try on locks that you cant get started on is, use hooks/lifters first to get a feel for the pins individually, then reset the lock, rake a few times and then return to the lifter pick to see what has changed. The benefit here is that while you arent going to feel much while raking, you can vary your tension a great deal, and then maybe glean some information after the fact as to what actually set or bound. Start there.
Im sure there are people on here that have more experience picking locks and can point you to more general advice. this forum is a good place to start it seems.
