Abus 751B and High cut spools I think.

I have 2 Abus 751B/40 locks. This is the model

I am just getting into dimple locks. I have been playing with these the last few days. I couldn't even get my southord dimple picks inside. I can get the smaller soubers past the shrouding once I cleaned them up a bit. Anyone have experience with picking these, or has anyone opened one up? Am I wrong about there being spools? It's a totally dead core. With extremely light tension I can get some pins set but it seems to take a lot of force and the pick is flexing. When I'm deep in the lock I'm not sure if I'm riding the warding and the pick is giving false counter rotation feedback. Pick getting stuck, pins locking up, jammed in between warding. I know I'll look back and think these are easy someday but right now I have no confidence picking them. What did you guys use to get past the warding? I can squeeze a medium diamond in too but don't like it as much as a dimple pick. Maybe I'm just over thinking this.

You can see this guy mess with one for a while. He was able to get the medium southord flag inside. Maybe thinned out a bit or some of the warding on the lock has worn off. So far I'm finding this to be a really tough lock for less than $20.

Hey, I know this is an old post, but has anybody had any luck with/suggestions for this lock? I also noticed that there are four dimples on the other side of the key with some pins on either side of the keyway. Are these passive pins?

Thanks!

I have not had chance to look at this lock in person. However I did take a look at a picture of a key for this style of lock. I could be wrong but it looks almost like a dimple lock with some nice warding thrown into it. Either way my instrest has been peaked and I will have to get my hands physically one one to start playing around with it.
