Storm door deadbolt

Hello-

Was called to open a storm door last nite. It had a deadbolt with a thumbturn on the inside.
The lock was easy to pick, the plug would turn but the deadbolt would not retract.
Ideas?

If it was a Euro-style cylinder, it may have had a clutch cam, meaning you needed to press the end of the cylinder to engage the cam mechanism and actually throw the bolt. Normally this is done with the tip of the key, but if the cylinder's picked, there's nothing engaging the cam.

Is there a way to pick and press the cam to open?

After the cylinder is picked and plug begins to turn, I leave my turning tool in place, then insert the long end of a BOK tool/length of wiper insert and press the back of the cylinder. Can also use a filed-down key to accomplish the same thing.

Not on cylindrical deadbolts, and Master Lock doesn't make euro profiles, so no.
