While shopping for something else I came across a bike lock with sliders instead of pins for $5. Of course at $5 for what is, to me at least, an unusual lock I picked it up. I figured it'd be a relatively easy pick since it seems to be only 2 sliders, but I've been having a hard time even getting the sliders to move, let alone get it open. Any advice on how to attack this thing?
I don't have a picture handy and I'm not home to take one right now, but it's got grooves on the key the push the pins sideways instead of up and down. The keyway itself looks kinda like a dimple lock except the pins are clear off to one side instead of in the middle. I'll take a picture when I get home this evening.

you probably have 2 or more sliders per side, not just 2 in total, you're just seeing the two closest to you. AS GWiens said, that's similar to the Bell Lock squiggle locks where the nipples (heh) that protrude into the keyway ride the pattern of the key, and the nipples are attached to sliders that are somewhat like wafers that then either move out of the way so the plug can turn, or they align their gates in order for a sidebar or multiple sidebars to be able to fall into the gates as the plug is rotated.
Here is a Scorpion CX-5 lock's sliders, so you can see how they ride up and down depending on the peaks and valleys in the "laser cut" pattern of the key, in order to align the gates (cutouts) so a sidebar can fall into the slider.

Thank you for that. I'm thinking that lock is even more interesting now that I see how it works. I'm also thinking, given what I've seen him pick, that if the lock picking lawyer took that long on a similar lock then it's probably going to live in my unpicked bucket for a while. Ah well, at least I've got a goal, right?
